Great leaders have been known to seek justice.

When someone has been cheated, hurt or wronged; great leaders have stood beside them and fought on their behalf.

In this day and age, many of us feel obligated to fight for some cause or speak out against a serious problem that everyone else is ignoring. If we’re not being heard, we often look to those above us to take action. Typically, the CEO of a company or perhaps, a politician on a local or even national level.

We expect them to do something about the situation.

In Proverbs 29:26, we read an interesting verse concerning this topic.

“Many seek an audience with a ruler, but it is from the Lord that one gets justice.”

Even if we go to the top-dog to get things straightened out, its God who makes the ultimate judgement.

Justice, like everything else in our lives, is purposed through the will of our heavenly Father. We may not understand the plan, but He does. If God felt that a certain boss, manager or even politician needed persuading, He could change their mind in a heartbeat.

I’m not saying we should be silent and let injustice reign.

I am saying however, that as Christians, we should be promoting prayer more than we promote resistance.

As you read through Proverbs 29, take note of the applicable principles. Within your prayer this morning, allow God to bring forward the injustices that you’ve been struggling with in recent months. If you have the time, write down each injustice and petition the Lord, asking to see His will within each situation.

This week, make a conscious choice to pray before addressing a wrong that has been done; seeking God’s plan within each circumstance.
