The Impressive and Thought-Provoking Musical Work of Deni Gauthier

Posted January 23, 2012.

Day two with independent musician, Deni Gauthier. He’s a rising Canadian artist that I am proud to be introducing to the American audience. For those of you who didn’t get a chance to view my opening post on Mr. Gauthier, feel free to take a moment and click Independent Musician, Deni Gauthier.

Yesterday, I gave you a taste of Deni’s sound. I’m sure you got a great glimpse of his talent and a day-in-the-life look at Deni and a few of his friends hangin’ out. As a Canadian, I personally appreciated the candid shots within a Canadian’s favorite (or favourite) watering hole, Tim Horton’s.

A simple yet well-put-together video.

Today, I’d like to take a look at Deni’s album, Man About Town released in March of 2011. This 5-track album sells for only $8, so feel free to take a break from reading, click HERE to start downloading the album (or check out all his merch right HERE).

Man About Town is having a gradual climb in popularity. My belief is that it’s because Deni puts out some great music videos to all five tracks, that complement his songwriting and overall sound.

This morning, I’d like to focus on two of the five videos created from his Man About Town album: Not There Yet and It’s Been A Long Time. The overall design and filming of these two videos unveil a feeling of peace and reflection for the viewer. Both videos portray Deni as more of a storyteller of sorts; rather than some rock star seeking out fame and fortune.

Within the videos, they’re free from the distractions of showmanship. Yet, creative in their own right. This type of video allows the viewer to be brought into the lyrical content of the song. It reveals the heart in which the song was obviously intended. They’re just really well-done videos.
