How to Use Video To Tell a Story (Northern Roads Book Trailer)
“We use video to tell your story.”
That’s the slogan that splashes across the website of Martin Media located in Kenai, Alaska. A company that provides expert videography, dronography and photography. But what does that look like exactly?
Our Creativity plus your story: Anyone can push record on a video camera and take some footage. It takes an expert and artist to capture every angle just right, offer a unique perspective and bring your story to life! (martinmedia.us)
The founder and owner of this company, Josiah Martin, is an incredible guy that I have known since he was a teenager. In fact, he was in my youth group when I was Youth Pastor in Alaska; and he and his family were such an important part of my Northern Roads story.
The Plan To Tell My Story
After my sabbatical in Texas, the plan was to spend two weeks in Alaska before heading home to the Yukon. With the recent launch of my book, a trailer would be a great asset to getting the word out. I reached out to Josiah. He was more than willing to help me create something meaningful and memorable.
Not only is he a professional at his craft, but Josiah also had a unique insight into my story. He even had a deeper connection to at least one account from the book. Moreover, we were able to film on the Kenai Peninsula, the setting in which most of my story took place. We set a date and got to work!
The Northern Roads Book Trailer by Martin Media
In the end, Josiah provided two trailers; a longer one which would be the main trailer and a shorter one for social sharing. They turned out better than I could have imagined! I can’t thank him (and his staff) enough for their creativity and skill. If you’re in the North and need someone to “use video to tell your story”, contact Martin Media.
