HOW TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL NEWLYWED STORY
Make Sure You’re Not Competing With Jesus.
For centuries, little girls have been dreaming of that perfect wedding day, and this is still true in our culture today. We know this to be true because Reality TV has capitalized on this fact.
Don’t believe me? Just watch an episode of a show called “Bridezillas“. Enough said!
Following that perfect wedding day, every couple dreams of that perfect Newlywed experience, that first year of marriage, falling deeper in love with each other. Even in our culture today, this is considered a successful Newlywed story.
This is the desired Newlywed story.
Unfortunately, our culture has shown us that successful Newlywed stories are becoming fewer and farther between.
This Is a Problem.
And this problem starts way before the wedding day. It starts when people compete with Jesus for the top spot in their relationships.
Competing With Jesus
This week we’re going to look at the Scriptural secrets to becoming successful Newlyweds.
Newlyweds who have followed God‘s plan and design for the marriage covenant. Newlyweds who have an incredible first year of marriage, falling deeper in love with each other, because they chose to fall deeper in love with Jesus first.
This week, we’ll cover the following topics:
- Before the proposal, when she says “Yes“… (Christian Dating)
- Before the wedding day, where he says “I Do“… (Christian Engagement)
- And when reality hits, after the honeymoon… (Christian Newlyweds)
- …was Jesus first?
- Is Jesus first?
