Yesterday, we discussed Peter walking on water.

Is courage and faith characteristic of us? Is courage and faith characteristic of the church? When the wind and waves of life are tossing us to and fro, do we place our trust in Christ or do we lean on our own understanding?

For those interested, here’s a few study questions based on yesterday’s post, for personal reflection or to use for Small Group discussion.

9 Study Questions – Matthew 14:22-33

1. What are your first thoughts on this week’s message and passage?

2. Do you think this event was groundwork for Peter’s leadership? Why or why not?

3. If you were one of the disciples, what would you be thinking or feeling?

4. If you were Peter, how would you act or react to Jesus’ request to “come” out on the water?

5. Why do you think Peter began to sink? Why would you have sunk, if you were Peter?

6. In your life, where do you experience the most fear and/or doubt?

7. In what moments do you feel the most courageous and/or faithful?

8. How will studying Peter’s adventure on the water, change you this week?
