Why You Should Invest in a Chronological Study Bible
Four simple reasons this Bible helps when reading Scripture feels confusing or overwhelming.
Do you struggle with daily Bible reading? I think we all do at some point in life. Thankfully, there are some great resources to help us stay on track with our spiritual walk. They can also get us into Scripture more regularly. Today, I want to feature one resource that has helped me tremendously. May I introduce you to the Chronological Life Application Study Bible (CLASB).
I purchased a hardcover copy of this Bible a few years ago. It has become a great resource for deeper and more enjoyable reading and study. So much so that I thought I’d share my four favourite highlights about this version of Scripture.
1. Chronological Order
Many of us open the Bible, start in Genesis 1, and try to power through. As we walk through the Old Testament, timelines can get confusing. The Chronological Study Bible provides the connections in both the Scriptural account and God’s promises. Helpful because these can be forgotten or never noticed before.
As an example, it brings clarity to passages like Psalm 51. This was written after David’s confrontation with Nathan (2 Samuel 12). The placement in this Bible version shows exactly where the events fit into God’s bigger story.

2. Maps and Graphics
The photos, graphics, and maps can really help pull you into the words. Unlike many Bibles that toss in the occasional image, the Chronological Study Bible places each image tastefully and with purpose. Every photo or chart adds depth and understanding to the surrounding text.
3. Study Notes
The Life Application notes are excellent! There’s a careful balance between archaeological evidence (often paired with an image). Moreover, the expository notes bring Scripture from head knowledge to heart application. The Chronological Study Bible helps me better understand God’s Word and apply it to daily life.
4. Timelines and Character Charts
Let’s face it, keeping all the biblical events and characters straight can be tough. (Even for pastors…but don’t tell anyone!) This Bible provides colourful, well-organized charts that describe where each person or place fits into each event. It also displays where the event fits into the grand story of Scripture. These simple tools make a huge difference.
This Might Help Your Daily Routine
These four points are just my personal highlights on the Chronological Study Bible. Biblical study and personal devotional time are still disciplines. But this version of the Bible might make it a bit easier for you. It might be a huge asset in building a routine of daily Scriptural intake.
