3 REASONS TO ATTEND THE CANADIAN CHURCH LEADERS CONFERENCE

Save The Date: June 14-16, 2018!

It was a shot in the dark. Not a fancy name. Straight forward on what it is and what it hoped to accomplish. A podcast that morphed into an idea that could have a deeper impact.

It was birthed out of the knowledge that Canadian Church Leaders aren’t getting connected the way they could be, or perhaps should be.

Not that any of us are opposed to connecting, it just isn’t happening. We’re often well-connected within our own tribe (denomination, fellowship, network). But what about church leaders from other tribes? When and where do we connect with them?

In case there’s some kick-back on the above statement, just try to name a Canadian Church Leader that is experience incredible wins for the Gospel in Canada? Do we know who they are? Can we name them right away?

For most of us, we have no idea.

In truth, we often know more about what God’s doing in the United States that in our own Nation. So we have to ask the question…

Is there a place for Canadian Church Leaders to converge?

Now there is!

Canadian Church Leaders ConferenceToday, as I walked out of I’m convinced that it’s not just for pastors. Ministry Staff, Elders, Deacons, Boards, etc. If you’re a Canadian Church Leader, you need to register for next year’s conference.

If you’re still not convince, let me highlight 3 reasons why you should attend the Canadian Church Leaders Conference in 2018.

1. CCLC Is Evangelical

Perhaps it’s just the culture of the church and the leaders that hosted this conference (Connexus Church)? Every component was focused on the Gospel!

Regardless of being in a main session, a break out or a Q&A, the consistent message was centred around the Mission of the Gospel. Jesus came to save sinners, and the method to which this is accomplished is through the local church.

As church leaders, we’re called to consistently and concisely represent and communicate this message, the Mission of the Gospel.

2. CCLC Is Ecumenical

When I saw the keynote lineup, it was diverse. And I’ll admit it, when I saw a Catholic Priest as a main session speaker, I was sceptical.

The Lord definitely corrected some preconceived positions. I was moved by Father James Mallon, as he brought us an incredibly evangelical and yet, tangible leadership talk.

I was equally moved as Pastor Mark Clark from Village Church, holding a more Reformed Baptist theology that I hold to, brought us an equally challenging and valuable message.

Other speakers fit in along the spectrum of tribes, which attracted an audience from numerous denominations, fellowships and networks.

3. CCLC Is National

Father James was from the East Coast. Pastor Mark was from West Coast. Other speakers were from central provinces. Canadian coast to Canadian coast, bringing a diverse set of contexts and cultures into one conference.

As for attendees, well, I showed up. And I’m from the Yukon Territory. I may have won the “furthest travelled” award.

I met church leaders from Vancouver, Edmonton, Thunder Bay, Waterloo, London Moncton and Halifax. Again, Canadian coast to Canadian coast, bringing a diverse set of contexts and cultures into one conference.
