How to Stay On Top of Christian Media Resources?
Posted January 15, 2012
It’s part of a youth pastor’s responsibility to stay on top of what youth culture has to offer. I’m not one of these guys who will tell you that people need to actually be young to be involved in student ministry. However, being aware and involved in what can relate to them, sure can help.
As far as the Christian scene, there’s one resource (or resource distributor) that really assists in my ability to stay ahead of the game on what’s up and coming. Interlinc is a media resource company that promotes and distributes Christian media to youth pastors, youth workers, parents, or whoever wants to be up on what’s up.
To be honest, with Interlinc, most of the time I’m way ahead of my students. Because of Interlinc, I’m usually the one informing them on the latest and greatest.
It is such a beneficial tool for ministry!
Every couple of months, I receive a box full of audio and video resources, posters, and other printed materials. I usually throw up the music videos on the big screen at the beginning of each youth night. There’s a play-all setting that cycles all the videos through in one viewing.
There are also a few theme videos for teaching as well as some promotional videos for new media products coming out soon. Lastly, there’s also a cool extras section that gives the students messages from their favourite artists. The messages usually include encouragement to stay in the Word, pay attention in youth groups, and turn off their cell phones.
Lastly, depending on what time of year the resources are sent out; they may include some seasonal greetings fitting to that time of year. Here’s a brief testimonial from another youth pastor, experiencing the same success with Interlinc.
All in all, Interlinc is a great company and a great resource. I can’t say that I’ve found a better way to stay connected with the latest Christian media resources. If you’re struggling to find something decent to promote or distribute to your students, Interlinc’s got your back!
